Digital Photography for the Absolute Beginner Get the most out of your digital camera! Take photos that capture your individual style. Step by step instruction will help you become familiar with your camera's menus, functions and manual. Learn the basic principles of light, composition and colour. Hands on activities offer lots of practice.
Intermediate Digital Photography What makes a good photograph? Further your understanding of both technique and design to take your photos to the next level. Deepen your knowledge of aperture, shutter speed and lenses. Practice the use of studio lights, tripods etc. Participants are required to bring up to ten images for classroom critique.
Macro Photography Discover our fascinating world close up! Instruction will include: getting the most from your macro lens, better understanding depth of field, and experimenting with creative lighting. A variety of work stations will offer students opportunity for practical learning. The workshop will conclude with a class slide show.
Lighting for Photography Create memorable mood in your photos with light! Learn how to use both natural and artificial light to enhance your photographs of people, landscapes, events, etc. Experiment with light sources indoors and out then share your photos in a class slide show. What to bring: digital camera, lenses, tripod (if available), a light source from home e.g. flashlight, headlight, small lamp (if possible).
